I’ve been meaning to write this for awhile:
My request – “Solsbury Hil” by the Dust Rhinos was played on Coverville, episode 534 (download the mp3).
The Dust Rhinos are butt-kickin’ celtic rockers (their words, but ones I completely agree with) from Winnipeg. I have to admit, first found them way-back on Napster, and since then have legitimised my Dust Rhinos collection. They’re like Great Big Sea, but kick up the rock just a touch.
Coverville is a great program hosted by Brian Ibbott that is all about cover songs. The program is great for supporting Indie bands, and Brian does a great job hosting. I actually found out about it because Tom Merritt of The Real Deal and Buzz Out Loud kept talking about it.
I’ve become a Coverville convert, and I’m hoping that by requesting the Dust Rhinos I helped get them a little more exposure with the Coverville audience.
Plus, I’m vain and I just like hearing my name on the air.
