What do I need to do to make myself happy?
Uh, that’s kind of a big question, isn’t it?
Okay, fine, what do I need to do to make myself happy with this blog?
Much better. Why don’t you make a to-do list?
Because I hate to-do lists. They always look stupid because they always become terribly out of date and there’s always some issue on there that sticks around for weeks and weeks.
Just make one. Sheesh.
- Re: The stylesheet. See that xhtml & css down there, we need to FIR it.
- Re: The stylesheet. I want to include modified (blueified?) icons.
- Re: The stylesheet. I don’t know if it works right for pages. Need more testing.
- Re: The stylesheet. Are we detecting a pattern yet? Concerns about background file sizes have yet to be resolved. Concerns about background sizes (pixelwise) have yet to be resolved. Need more background images.
- Credits. Need to through out kudos to the guy who did the sandbox theme and of course to Eric Meyers. Hey, put that in a page and then you can test the pages with css. Well, duh.
- Mission. Why am I doing a blog? Yeah, why are you? I don’t know. I need a page and I wanted an excuse to play with Wordpress. Plus, a page stays static. With a blog, every now and then I can pretend to care and write some crap.
- php programming. Time to roll up the sleeves and dig in – I want to write that function that turns the first word and/or first two letters blue. Like in the title. Right now I’m faking it. I need to dig in with both hands and figure out where in the Wordpress code jumble I can add my own function to return a <span>.
- php programming / image handling. So a long time ago A List Apart published this great article and I’ve been so inspired by it. I want it. I need it. It will be added to the collective. How? I have some ideas…
- Finish writing this to do list.
I don’t think number 9 counts.

Okay, re: 9 – I want to re-examine the default editor – I think it’s producing some bad code…
And 10 – Let’s add a favicon.
11. – I want to add a credit saying where or what the background photo is.
Cross number 10 off the list. Had a favicon for awhile.
Number 9 – I think I can live with it. I’m at a point where the validator says it’s good code.
Number 6 – I’ve kind of resolved this with all the news story postings I do. Obviously the blog is a repository for any news I think is important. Still I want to write a proper about me page and include a mission/description there.
Number 3 – I think this will be an ongoing issue. Yesterday making that tag cloud page showed that every time I do something new is when I have to reexamine how it will work with ScottStyle. It’s an evolutionary procedure.
Add Number 12 – More photos, better image handling, attach photos to stories more often. Basically a better image procedure; this will supersede issue Number 8.
Debug for IE-7 too. Some problems with the copyright div – no top border, displaying in weird places.
Damn gremlins.
